Palmistry

Palmistry

The way in which a persons shows their hands to you for a reading is an important indicator of how they handle their daily lives. If they are timid and cautious about allowing you to look, this is how they are in life, but if they readily thrust their hands in your face, they are just the opposite. It should also be said that they may put their hands on the table, and if the palms are down or away from your sight this person is secretive; just the opposite is true if the palms are facing you.

The right hand, or the hand the person rights with, is often read and is said to be the person’s future hand, but in fact it is the hand that shows how a persons determination and will change their life, as the left hand is not just the past, but what you are born with in life.

Hand Shapes

Earth (short palm, short fingers) – Solid, stable and practical.
Air (short palm, long fingers) – Expansive and thoughtful.
Fire (long palm, short fingers) – Passionate and active.
Water (long palm, long fingers) – Emotional and changeable.

Texture and Flexibility

If the hand is very firm when you manipulate it, the person stands strong in all areas of life, but if it is weak and loose, the person tends to be scatter-brained and never finishes anything they start.

Knuckles and Joints

The smoother the knuckles are, the more meticulous they are about appearances, which is usually coupled with smooth fingers, which means the person is changeable with their social life. If the bottom joints are pronounced, the person are practical and orderly, but if the top and bottom joints are both this way, the person is a philosopher.

Fingers

The space between fingers are important when the palm is being read. For instance, if they are wide apart, the person is friendly and outgoing.

Venus Finger – The straighter the thumb, the more stubborn the person is. The thumb is also divided, but only into two sections, the top which is associated with active aggression, and the base, which is associated with passive aggression. Whichever is longer is which influences one. The smaller the thumb, the less the person is likely to try to succeed in life.

Jupiter Finger – The pointer, or index finger seems to rule the personality of a person, as well as will power. The longer the finger is, the more aggressive the person will be to get done what is needed. If the space between this finger and the next is wide, the person will over-spend. If this finger is shorter than the ring finger, the person is a follower, whilst ones with longer ring fingers are active and seek their own destiny.

Saturn Finger – The middle finger is divided into three sections. The section joining the palm is associated with your family, the middle section with business, and the top with your spiritual path. The longer the finger, the more “bad” things the person will do.

Sun, or Apollo Finger – The ring finger may bend towards the middle finger, meaning they seem destine to pay for things that uprightly come to them or they deal with other peoples problems. If there is a large space between this finger and the next, the person loves freedom and needs space, so they are a bad choice in love, often cheating then denying it.

Mercury Finger – If the little finger does not come up passed the third section of the previous finger, the person is not great with communication skills and may be shy, especially if it is bent inward, which means the person feels they have no one to talk with about problems.

The Mounts

A mount is a fleshy bump under each finger, named after the finger it is closest to. Most importantly, if the mount if large, the qualities of that mount of extreme and overpowering, but if they fall between each finger, the person has the tendency to hold everything inside and not face challenges.

Mount of Venus – Lying beside the thumb, which is associated with work because it is opposable, it is associated with love.

Mount of Jupiter – Lying under the index finger, the finger or will power, it is associated with pride, respect and social standing.

Mount of Saturn - Lying under the middle finger, the finger of aggression and anger, it is associated with sadness, depression and melancholy.

The Plain of Mars – The center of the palm itself is divided into two sections, the first being the upper (top) part which denotes courage, and the lower (bottom) part which is associated with cold indifference.

Lines

If the line is strong and deep, the traits of the line are important and very strong, and the deepest line in the hand is the most important aspect of that persons life. If it is thin, the opposite is true. A broad, shallow line, however, indicates a lack of influence of that line. If a line has what is called a Sister Line, or a line that runs along side an amount of the line, the line is strengthened and protected, serving to heal the line. Finally, tiny lines, called offshoots, coming from a line mean different things. If the lines go up, it is a sudden period of inspiration and happiness, but if they go down it is a time of sadness and disappointment. Other marking are as followed:

Markings

Transverse – Tiny lines, not to be confused with Sister Lines, that run along the length of the line are terrible influences on the line, draining its properties and weakening it.

Vertical – Lines that run across a mount serves to strengthen and cause luck in the area affected by the mount, as opposed to the transverse lines.

Grill – If a group of vertical lines are together, this is called a grill. Where one of these are, the line or mount has its energy drained.

Island – Islands, or chains as they are called, are, depending on what mount or line they are on, indicate an extended period of strife and troubles.

Spot  A dark spot on a line or mount is a sign of deficiency in that area.

Trident  Trident like lines draw energy from wherever it is pointed to the line it springs from.

Tassel – With the weak of time and stress, the inner strength one has finally begins to dissipate, as shown by these frayed lines.

Major Lines

Markings or shapes on the line are traced and believed to be at different times of your life, and since it is believed that the markings never go away, the future can be told so.

A noteworthy abnormality seen in only a few persons is the Simian Line, or only two lines on the hand instead of the common four major ones. People with only two lines are usually very egotistical, self-centered, pristine, and cannot stay one topic or with one person for long periods of time.

Heart Line  This line runs from the outside of the palm and is the very top line and shows your life in romance. If there is a Sister Line, it is called the Girdle of Venus, and given the right conditioning, a person changes from sensitivity and caring emotions to oversexed or perverse.

Head Line – This line doesn’t actually tell how smart a person is, but their ability to comprehend ideas as well as how much emotion they let into their lives. It runs under the Heart Line and is sometimes joined with the Life Line.

Life Line – This line surrounds the Mount of Venus, actually outlining the Mount, but it does not tell when you will die. It tells, however, by markings the events that will happen in your life. If it is not connected to the Head Line, the person is a care-giver, or a passive person in love. Its Sister Line is called the Mars Line.

Sun Line – This is also called your Fate Line, which runs up from the wrist to somewhere near the underside of the middle finger. This line speaks of careers and business, and how they will work for you.

Rascettes – The lines, or bands connecting the hand to the wrist are considered a way to tell the quality and length of life, and many health problems will appear here since they are influential to your life. It is said that each full line is 25 years, and each half line is 15.

Minor Lines

Travel Lines – These run along the outside of the palm down from the Love Line to the wrist, and the length of the line shows how a trip will change your life.

Money Lines – In the inside of the fold of your hand are lines that foretell of finances.

Health Lines – A line going from the outside of the hand to the little finger tell of your health. A Sister Line to this is the Via Lascivia, which influences a persons passion in sexuality (sometimes to the point of being promiscuous) and elegance.

Line, or Bow of Intuition – A semicircle on the Mount of the Moon shows impressionability and adaptability to the social scene surrounding the person.

Lines of Affection – Formerly called Marriage Lines, they are horizontal lines between the base of the little finger and the beginning of the Love line, on the outside of the palm. These are the number of long-term relationships one will have, and offshoots from these lines are sometimes children.

Ring of Saturn – A ring around the Mount of Saturn is a very bad sign. The person will always have good plans they will never achieve, as it seems all manner of misfortune will befall them.

Solomon’s Ring – A circle around the base of the pointer finger tells that a person has less concern for materialism, are often emotional, and have a brilliance that sometimes leans towards the occult.
